With a fusion of Post Rock, Alt Rock and tangs of Metal and Experimental musical influences, Kubo Kobi began in 2020 writing and jamming in Glasgow, with founder and songwriter David Drummond, being joined by Robin Birrell on bass and Asim Rasool on drums. The worldwide outbreak of the Rona in 2020 held up proceedings, the final two pieces of the jigsaw joining in late 2021, with Anca on vocals and Will Ren on guitar. The now complete line up has begun working on the anticipated summer 2022 release of their debut album.
Kubo Kobi will have you dreaming in your bed, floating on ambient, spacious and effect driven verses before exploding into Deftones motivated choruses, powerful and driven. The influences of bands such as Deftones, Tool, Hammock and Mogwai, can be clearly heard.…
